Grant Basics

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity is excited to work with potential grantees on obtaining federal award funding to back programs or projects that will serve the citizens of Illinois. Within this page you will find introductory information on grants with DCEO as well as the tools and requirements needed to obtain grant funding. It is the goal of DCEO to equip grantees with everything they need to be successful in their programs. Potential grantees are encouraged to visit the GRANT BASICS LEARNING LIBRARY to review video tutorials on the initial stepping stones of the grant process.

The contents of the Grant Basics Library are necessary both before and during the life cycle of a grant program. Once in receipt of a grant award, grantees may return to the Grant Basics Quick Reference Library for guidance and instruction. Additional resources can be found on the GRANT MAINTENANCE page.
