Wendy Bell
Wendy Bell serves as the Deputy Director for DCEO’s Office of Community Development. The Office administers the federal Community Development Block Grant program assuring communities have adequate public infrastructure, their low-to-moderate income residents live in a safe and healthy home, and local businesses have the opportunity to succeed. Additionally, the Office may assist when weather-related disasters affect Illinois’ communities.
Wendy brings over fifteen years of community development experience to the position, including seven years as State Coordinator for the Illinois Main Street program and most recently, four years as the Assistant Deputy Director of Community Development. She holds a BS degree from Saint Mary of the Woods College and has completed her Certification in Professional Main Street Management™ with the National Trust. Wendy resides with her husband in a Sears Kit Home in rural Lincoln.
