Welcome to the Illinois Film Office!

2022 was a record-breaking year for Film and TV Production in Illinois with nearly $700 Million in qualified production spending.   Additionally, Governor JB Pritzker extended the Illinois Film Production Tax Credit through 2032, and on July 1, 2022, the Illinois Film Production Tax Credit expanded allowing for a limited number of non-Illinois residents to have their wages included in the tax credit.  Qualifying Non-resident wages are limited to Director, Writer, Director of Photography, Production Designer, Costume Designer, Production Accountant, VFX Supervisor, Editor, Composer, Actor for work performed in Illinois. 

For qualified productions spending $25,000,000 or less, no more than 2 non-resident actors qualify. For qualified productions spending $25,000,000+, no more than 4 non-resident actors qualify.
