EDGE for Startups Application

Application Process for EDGE for Startups:

The EDGE for Startups program is a streamlined yet comprehensive process designed to assess the potential and readiness of your startup. The application involves two key components:

Part 1: Application Forms:

This is your opportunity to introduce your startup. Simply describe your business, the jobs you plan to create and the capital investment you plan to make. You will fill out a Word and an Excel application.

See the EDGE Tool Box.

Part 2: Supporting Documents:

  • Two-Year Financial Projections: For businesses under 2 years old, we require monthly cash flow projections for the first year, three-year projections of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statements, and any 90-day interim or pro forma financials.
  • Organizational Chart: The corporate organization chart is critical to help in determining the legal applicants that need to be included in the application.
  • ITR-1 Form: The ITR-1 is an Illinois Department of Revenue Request for Tax Clearance form.  This form needs to be submitted for all legal applicants of an EDGE application and the applicant’s owners.
  • Good Standing with the Secretary of State (SOS): It ensures that your company is duly registered and compliant with state regulations.
  • Site plan or map that shows the boundaries of the project site.
