Grant Opportunities

The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s mission is to support and maintain a climate that enables a strong economy. Our grant programs support this mission by providing funds to organizations throughout Illinois for many different purposes. To better assist potential and current grantees, this page contains a variety of resources to provide end to end support for grant recipients.

What is a grant?  A grant is a way the government funds your ideas and projects to provide public services and stimulate the economy.

If you are new to grant funding and would like to learn more about the process, it is recommended that you begin with the GRANT BASICS tab located to the left. From here, you will be introduced to common terms and procedures utilized in the grant process. You will be guided through the introductory steps needed to ensure grant success.

Within the GRANT BASICS LEARNING LIBRARY, you will find short video tutorials introducing key terms and best practices for the beginning stages of the grant process.

If you are familiar with DCEO and the grant process, please feel encouraged to explore the APPLY FOR FUNDING tab to learn more about current funding opportunities.

If you are a current grantee with DCEO, you are encouraged to explore this page to find all the necessary resources required to implement a successful grant program.
